Made vases

What is left after we removed the win-or-lose principle of competition and the entertainment factor from the Olympics? The nine jugs arranged on the exhibition stand seem to be painted with a small answer to this question. A game where people complete to make ripples on the surface of water by shouting. A sport where competitors throw steaks instead of discus.

A boxing event where someone punches a clay wall rather than an opponent, At first glance these scenes might seem to portray a world without meaning. But what if there had been a time in history or community like this? Such a society of ‘idle competition’ where no one harms each other might actually be a kind of utopia.
